This joint Dialogue in Urban Equality and launch of the听Handbook of Urban Resilience听(Editors: Michael A. Burayidi, Adriana Allen, John Twigg, and Christine Wamsler)听gives authors and editors space to reflect on the complexity, contradictions and optimisms of resilience as ubiquitous notion, concept, and principle, which has taken hold in urban research, policy and practice. Drawing on current debates and research findings, the speakers discuss particularly how disaster risk and resilience are, and could be, re-framed in efforts to address issues of urban equality.听

The book launch will听encompass听part of the dialogue and discussion.
