He has authored seven books, lectured, and exhibited his work internationally.听He is known as a master teacher at the Architectural Association, the Frankfurt Staedelschule and The Bartlett, to which he now returns, to run this unique and intensive course.

Teaching

Professor Sir Peter Cook was Chair of The Bartlett School of Architecture from 1990-2006. His teaching has been recognised by the International Union of Architects through the award of the Jean Tschumi Medal (for pedagogy), the RIBA鈥檚 Annie Spink Award for teaching and a Knighthood from H.M. the Queen for 鈥榮ervices to architecture and teaching鈥. Cook鈥檚 former students have built iconic buildings; and become professors, heads of architecture schools and critics.

Cook鈥檚 teaching operates predominantly through direct one-to-one tutorials, with reviews and group sessions supporting these more intense personal sessions. He says: 鈥淢y method is to delve into the background and experiences of the student, to find his or her real enthusiasms and then build upon them in order to take that person far beyond the limits that had been assumed at the outset. I strongly believe that the development of an architectural skill and awareness can come out of this individual approach, rather than the imposition of a common set of manoeuvres.鈥

As well as one-to-one tutorials, his Masterclass will offer group sessions, crits with well-known practitioners, visits to practices and to exhibitions.
