Manuelle discusses the emotion of architecture; that of discovering a place which surprises, where one feels good, where beauty is present.Ìý

Going beyond the basic functions of a building, there is what cannot be measured: the generosity of collective spaces, the unexpected features of projects which are added on and which were not planned, the beauty of volumes ready to experience informal ideas and an ownership that cannot be anticipated.

BiographyÌýÌý

Manuelle Gautrand is a French architect whoÌýstudied at theÌýEcole Nationale Supérieure d'ArchitectureÌý(ENSA)Ìýnational school of Montpellier in 1985. She founded her office Ìýin 1991 and rapidly gained international public renown.Ìý

Since its creationÌýManuelle Gautrand ArchitectureÌýhas carried out numerous projects for global clients, in fields such as cultural facilities, offices, housing, hotels, retails and leisure facilities. Some of their more famous projects are the Gaité Lyrique,Ìýformer theater transformation in Paris, the LaMÌýMuseum of Modern and Oustider Art in Lille andÌýthe Cité des AffairesÌýin Saint-Etienne.Ìý
