Naomi Bloomstein聽and聽Libby Liburd, both Audio Storytelling for Radio and Podcast MA students, were among five winners of the prestigious Charles Parker Prize 2024, which recognises excellence in radio and audio feature production by young people.

Naomi鈥檚 work,聽The National Language of Nowhere, explores the existential threat to the Yiddish language, and Libby鈥檚 piece,聽Fight Fair, is a personal dive into the challenges faced by women in boxing.

Naomi and Libby will now team up with a production company to develop their work further, and their winning features will be broadcast on Radio 4 over the summer.

The Charles Parker Prize was an unexpected but brilliant surprise! I remember reading about the prize when I was thinking of applying and so to have then been a part of it this year is just fantastic. The MA has been a huge learning聽and meeting such lovely fellow students and getting to be creative again has been hugely rewarding. Looking forward to carrying on next year!
