Two in three of us will be a carer during our lifetime, and the majority of carers fall ill from the stresses of caring.

But there is a way to make changes for the better.

Discover deeper insight, as Sara shares her story of caring, followed by strategies to improve your health and wellbeing, so that you become more resilient to enjoy life – guilt-free.

Sara will also share some great research on caregivers’ telomeres by a Nobel prize-winner, as well as the true story of transformation of a 74 year old carer.

Please note that this event takes place online via Zoom webinar and will be recorded. All timings noted are BST.

About the Speaker

Sara Challice

Founder, speaker and coach at Support for Carers

Sara Challice is the award-winning author of the book 'Who Cares? - How to Care for Yourself Whilst Caring for a Loved One'. She is also a motivational speaker and coach improving the lives of those caring for loved ones. Having appeared on TV and radio, she regularly gives talks to local and national charities, and businesses supporting unpaid carers in the workplace.

Sara cared for her husband for 13 years after he fell ill from a brain tumour. Due to the pressures of caring, she gave up her career as a graphic designer to look after him full-time. Following a stroke, he became bed-bound and needed full-time nursing care. Due to the pressures of caring, Sara became both mentally and physically unwell. She then found new ways to regain her health and enjoy life again, even whilst continuing to care for a terminally ill husband.

Sara gives insight and strategies to carers on how they can improve their resilience and boost their health and wellbeing - which is not only good for themselves but also those around them.

Having been a trustee for five years for a neurological charity based in Twickenham, she now regularly gives her ’Wisdom to Empower’ course, which remains one of the largest online crowd-pullers for Carers UK.
