In his will proved 1820 Joseph Russell left 'To Miss Bathia [=Bathsua?] Vernon, daughter of James Baillie Vernon late of Manchester Esquire, my late neighbour and friend, 拢1,000 sterling., to be raised from my estate at the perfect discretion of my executors in Great Britain. Interest of 5 per cent to be paid to her in the meantime.' |
