Total value of estate at probate: 拢10474.93 Jamaican currency of which 拢4567 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included 拢308.9 currency cash, 拢3402.31 currency debts and 拢77.43 currency plate.
The will of James Witter was proved in Jamaica in 1741.
The estate of James Witter deceased was listed in the Accounts Produce for Hanover in 1743, produce being sugar and rum. This is tentatively identified as Mosquito Cove, owned by a second James Witter who died in 1768.
