Dr William Tyrell or Tyrrell

???? - 1768

Biography

Owner of Tyrrell's Cove in St Mary Jamaica. Dead by 1768. Nothing further has been traced of him to date, although it is likely that William Van [also given as Von] Trump Tyrrell (1762-1837), shown as 'late of Jamaica but now of Stockbridge' on his marriage to Miss Martin in 1793 and buried at Longstock, Hampshire, was a descendant, probably son, of Dr William Tyrrell. The will of William Van Trump Tyrrell of Winchester proved 24/05/1837 is silent on Jamaican property.

William Tyrrell was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 250 acres of land in St Mary.
