PROB 11/2068/65 - precis. Dorothy Ann Petgrave of the parish of St James, Island of Jamaica, spinster. To my beloved sister Mary Tharp Montague 拢100 sterling. I hope she will forgive so small a bequest from me in consequence of the reduced state of my property. To my beloved sister Susanna Lawrence Petgrave 拢50 sterling. To my beloved niece Wilhelmina Margaret Petgrave 拢20 sterling to purchase a small token of remembrance of me. To my beloved nieces Susanna Lawrence Petgrave and Elizabeth Mary Petgrave I give the half of whatever I may die possessed of after deducting the above. To my beloved nephew Ezekiel Charles Thomas Johnson Petgrave I give the other half. My sister Susanna Lawrence Petgrave and nieces Susanna Lawrence Petgrave and Elizabeth Mary Petgrave to be executrixes. Signed 11/01/1840. Sworn in Jamaica 15/02/1847.
