William Terrill, the father of Joseph Terrill (d. 1755), and in 1804 was reportedly sold by Edward [Brace] Terrill as heir at law of his brother Joseph Terrill. |

When William Terrill married Rebecca Spiar in 1797 [sic], there were 98 enslaved. In fact this marriage must have been a century earlier, since Mary the daughter of William Terrill and Rebecca Spiar married 24/11/1718 in London John Alleyne, the father of Sir John Gay Alleyne.
