In 1776, James Ford, Thomas Linley and Richard Brinsley Sheridan paid 拢35,000 for David Garrick's half-share in the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. In 1788 Ford reportedly sold his then interest of 1/4 in the whole theatre to Sheridan.
